Shapewear is taking over the world. Surveys carried out in the United
States of America indicate that about 44% of the women sampled wear shapewear
regularly to dates, while about 70% of the women own some variation of
shapewear in UK. These are very big numbers that tell us that the industry is
big and is continuously growing, and there is plenty of money in it. The
question that arises here is, how do we choose size for shapewear?
Choosing the size for shapewear is easy, as it is available in a variety of
forms: bodysuits, bras, corsets, control panties, girdles, garter belts, body
briefs, camisoles, leotards, and so on. This ensures that no matter what a
woman’s needs are, they are met through the varieties. The consumer can choose
from thousands of garments and get fitted into one which suits them the best.
Getting the right fit is absolutely essential, as the wrong fit might make the
user feel uncomfortable and might adversely affect their health. Most women
tend to opt for a smaller size thinking that it will give them a better fit,
but this is a common misconception and experts recommend that if a garment does
not give you the desired fit, you should try one size larger.
Even though shapewear has been around since the Victorian era, there are still doubts about their use and effectiveness. Each comes in its own sizes, and women must get fitted for it and try it out before committing to a purchase.
